Variable SKU
A Seller SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is a unique code assigned to your products. Choosing the right SKUs for your products can help you stay organized, streamline your operations, and ensure your products are easily identifiable. Boxem's Variable SKU option makes this easy!
To set up a Variable SKU, click the account name on the left menu.
Select Settings.
Then, select SKU Options from the menu.
Choose Variable SKU from the dropdown menu.
You'll see a preview of the formula used to create Variable SKUs based on the options selected. You'll also see a message stating that SKUs have a maximum length of 40 characters.
The options available to choose for the formula include:
- ASIN
- Buy cost
- Supplier
- Purchase date
- List price
- Condition
- Count
- Custom (This allows you to type a prefix or short string of characters)
If you want to change the order of the options chosen for the formula, click and drag the option up or down to the desired position.
To change an option, click the arrow next to it and choose one from the list of remaining options available that are not selected.
To delete an option, click the trashcan icon next to it.
To add an option, click + Add Option and select it from the list of remaining options available that are not selected.
That's it! When adding products to shipments, your selections will be used as you create new SKUs.
